Brief Introduction of Changchun TV Station

Changchun TV Station abbreviated as CTV in English, was set up in August 1985 and came into running on August 1 of the same year. Following the decision of National Broadcasting and TV General Bureau on July 1, 2001, Changchun TV Station was united with Changchun Community Antenna Television Station as the new Changchun TV Station. After the united station finished designing and planning those former channels of the two old stations, on January 1, 2004 , there were Comprehensive Channel (CTV-1), Enterainment Channel (CTV-2), Citizen's Channel (CTV-3), Movies Channel (CTV-4), and Automobile Channel (CTV-5) televising 100 hours programs to audience every day, by which it initially established a systematic new televising system.

Since the establishment of the new Changchun TV Station, we have done our best to create new production of CTV and fulfill our duties, with our running principle “ Holding Today And Creating The Future” and our station tenet “ The TV Station of Changchun Peoples”, under the direction of our party and government. Now, our new working objectives are to reinforce the authority media position of CTV in Changchun, to gradually build up the strong media image of CTV in our country, to continually extend the influence of CTV in the world. The establishment of new CTV is an important step to the new century, which opened a fully new page of striding development for CTV.

In recent years, CTV has continually regulated its programs and programs’ quality has been improved step by step, with the rule “ Creating Refined Productions and Emphasize Benefits” in TV program production. CTV has created tens of self-presided programs aiming at different audience, among which “Chanchun News”, “ Focus”, “ Meeting in CTV”, “Court Fax”, “ Economic Observation”, “Gold of The First Barrel” and so on have broad influence in the public. Since the establishment of CTV, there are more than 70 TV play series produced nearly 500 volumes , in which “ Our Father and Mother”, “ Arrival to Sky”, “ The Rural Woman Judge”, “ Passing Liuyuan”, “ Mother”, “ Xie Yaohuan” and so on were awarded respectively the prizes of “ Feitian”, “Gold Eagle of Mass TV”, and national “ The Five Firsts Projects” and etc. Many propagandizing plays to foreign world such as “ Twin City Love”, “ Auto Families”, “ Ganbolin’s World”, “ Dreams of Yuanyuan”, “ Bais’ Mountain Forestry”, “ Records of Puppet Palace” have been showed on in TV Station of Huang River and have been awarded many national prizes of government. Especially the large-scale serials “ Changchun During Recent One Hundred Years” and “ Courses and Experience” created a new method to exhibit the social culture by TV, and it has been accepted by audience firmly.

Recently, CTV has engaged in movements of social culture which have great influence to the society such as “ Movie Festival Celebration Evening Party”, “ Model Contest of Auto Exposition”, the great live show “ New Era”, the great live show “ Our City” in remember of the city’s establishment for 200 years, especially “ Symphony Concert of New Year” showed every year has become the spirit banquet supplied by CTV to our audience.

CTV is equipped with advanced technology and facilities. The editor equipment has been digitalized and the office automation system has been in somewhat size. CTV-1 and CTV-2 televise by microwave covering regions including Changchun, City Jilin, Siping, parts of Songyuan and Heilongjiang. And total five channels of CTV televise with cable covering the whole urban region in Changchun.

CTV is a national government occupation unit with staff of more than 500 includes Office, Financial Department, Chief Editor Office, Industry Development Office, Advertisement Center, News Center, Economy Center, Culture & Sports Center, Movie & Art Center, Social Education Center, International Affairs Center, Production Center, Operation and Control Center.

CTV pays attention to improve the communication and cooperation with foreign world and at the same time establish and sustain a good business cooperation with local TV stations and culture agencies in our country. We have respectively made friendship relation with Macao Broadcasting & TV Co., ltd., Hongkong Zhengda Zongyi Company, Korea Weishan UBC TV, Germany Habo TV Station, New Boliya TV & Broadcasting Company, Japan Tokyo TV Station, Japan Songben Changye TV Co., ltd., U.K Birmingham Central TV Station, and America Fulinte TV Station and etc. “ Macao TV Week” and “ Changchun Film Festival” held respectively in Macao and Changchun enlarges Changchun’s influence both in domestic regions and the world.
